Walmart lowers prices on groceries and other goods to ease consumer inflation pressure

"This summer, we're investing more in price, with thousands of Rollbacks on the items our customers buy most, including beef, fresh produce and beverages, grills, pools, toys, and summer fashion," Julie Barber, Walmart U.S. executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, said in a statement.
At most Walmart stores, items with price rollbacks include ground beef chubs, fresh sweet corn, fresh red cherries, private brand ice cream, and Lay's classic potato chips. The price reductions on these key items range from a few cents to $5.
Sam's Club is cutting prices on more than 250 items, including private brand products such as bone-in chicken wings, beef hot dogs, ground beef, and whole bone-in pork back ribs. The price cuts shared by Walmart in the announcement range from a few cents to about $2.
Walmart reduced the price of its 73% lean ground beef chub from $6.74 to $5.94—a reduction of nearly 12%.
Customers can shop these deals in stores, online, and through both retailers' respective apps, the announcement noted.
President Donald Trump praised the retailer for the move in a Truth Social post Monday, saying it was done at his request. Walmart's press release did not mention the Trump administration or the July Fourth holiday.
